Carlo Ancelotti has poured cold water on a potential move for Sami Khedira this summer by insisting the issues surrounding his contract had been resolved.
Earlier this week, Ancelotti revealed Khedira had rejected a contract proposal which sparked rumours of an impending exit from Madrid this summer.
With a host of clubs looking at Khedira including Arsenal, United and Bayern Munich, he’d have easily found a new club but Khedira is now happy after solving his issues with Madrid according to Ancelotti.
“The issue with Khedira has also been resolved. He’s staying and we’re happy that’s the case,” Ancelotti said.
Angel di Maria might be a blockbuster signing for United but when assessing the critical issues with the current squad, Khedira might have been considered a smarter signing.
However, it doesn’t seem that possibility exists any more which is a blow from United’s perspective as top class, available central midfielders are far and few between at this stage in the summer transfer window.
