Manchester United representatives were in attendance to watch Martin Odegaard make his senior international debut last night for Norway.
At just 15, Odegaard became Norway’s youngest ever player and it’s no surprise to see United keeping tabs on a player who is garnering a lot of interest.
Odegaard completed the full 90 minutes of Norway’s international friendly against UAE and said it was a dream come true for him. “It’s incredibly huge to realise the dream that I’ve had since I was very, very small,” he said.
“I didn’t think I’d start at all, so to play 90 minutes is good.”

It’s a fantastic achievement for Odegaard to have made his debut at such a young age and although he signed a new two year contract with his current Norwegian club Stromsgodset, Europe’s biggest clubs including United are already keeping a close eye on him.
Mats Moller Daehli and Magnus Wolff Eikrem are two Norwegian players who have benefited from United’s youth coaching and although they have now left the club, they were certainly helped by their time at United.
At just 15, no move for Odegaard will happen any time soon but it’s good to see how active United are in scouting Europe’s finest young talent.
