Marcos Rojo still currently ineligible for Manchester United due to registration complications

Marcos Rojo is still currently unavailable for selection as his signing has not yet been sanctioned by the Premier League, the Daily Mail reports.

Due to paperwork complications over his transfer involving a dispute between Doyen Sports and Sporting Lisbon about ownership of his economic rights, Rojo’s registration hasn’t yet been completed.

Louis van Gaal said Rojo was unavailable for Sunderland at the weekend because he was yet to be given a work permit but this extra delay could mean he is ruled out of Burnley on Saturday, unless given the all clear by 12pm on Friday.

United’s defence has been very shaky so far this season and the 4-0 defeat against MK Dons has left United in real need of fresh faces in defence, something Rojo would be able to provide.

If Rojo is once again unavailable, United will be left with Phil Jones, Michael Keane and Jonny Evans, who only returned from injury against MK Dons, as the only fit centre-backs.
