Shinji Kagawa’s return to Borussia Dortmund has now been confirmed by the Bundesliga club.
After two years at Manchester United and 57 appearances, Kagawa can’t hide his happiness at moving back to where he forged his career in Europe.
“The day I left, I said in an interview that the chapter Borussia Dortmund was not closed in my life,” he told Dortmund’s official website.
“I wanted to fulfill my dream of playing in the Premier League. Now I am simply delighted to be back in Dortmund with this fantastic team and set-up and these unique fans.
“BVB is like a family and I am proud that they did not forget me and that I can belong to it once more.”
Louis van Gaal felt United’s squad was unbalanced when he arrived and out of the No.10’s at the club, Kagawa was the only one who looked likely to be sold and that has proved to be the case.
Kagawa came and won the Premier League in his first season with United but overall, the past two years have seen his career stagnate so a move back to Dortmund is the best move for him.
In the Bundesliga before he moved to Old Trafford, Kagawa was one of the best players in the league so good luck to him back in Dortmund.
