Juan Mata has welcomed Radamel Falcao to Manchester United and believes the club have signed an ‘extraordinary’ player.

Falcao is yet to train with United as he has been away on international duty with Colombia but will meet his new team-mates when he returns to Carrington this week.

The 28-year-old is expected to go straight into the starting line-up this weekend to face QPR and Mata is looking forward to playing alongside him.

Writing on his weekly Monday blog, Mata said: “Almost at the end of the transfer window we had a new signing. Not just a player, but a fantastic striker whose ability to score is extraordinary: Radamel Falcao.

“I am sure he will give a lot to our group, as a person and with his goals, and here I welcome him and I wish him the best for this season.”

In Falcao, United have signed one of the most lethal strikers in world football and it’s no surprise to see that Mata is excited to see what he can do for the team.

Fans are equally as excited because it is now less than a week before the QPR game and will be able to get a first glimpse at a new look United side that includes Falcao, Blind and Di Maria.
