Manchester United targets Kevin Strootman and Arturo Vidal wages revealed

Manchester United might have spent a club record amount in the transfer market this summer but they are expected to be active again in the January window.

A new midfielder and centre-back will be the prerogative and from a midfield perspective, there are two names that are likely to be high up on the list of United fans – Kevin Strootman and Arturo Vidal.

Both midfielders were recovering from serious injuries this summer which more than likely played a hand in Louis van Gaal‘s decision to not pursue either player but by January, they will have been back in action for four months.

If their fitness isn’t an issue and they can return to the top level they were at before their injuries, Van Gaal may well be interested in signing them and something which gives United an upper hand in negotiations is how much the players currently earn in Serie A.

Today, Gazzetta Dello Sport released a wages list which detailed how much the top earners in Serie A are on and for players of their calibre, Strootman and Vidal are on relatively low wages.

One thing to consider is that these wages are after tax (roughly 47%) has been applied but in comparison to what they could earn at United.

If money is the motivator for Vidal or Strootman, then United would certainly have no problem in meeting personal terms with either player in January.
