Januzaj impressed by Di Maria and Rojo but yet to meet Falcao

by Sam Peoples

Adnan Januzaj has become one of Manchester United’s forgotten men during the 2014/15 campaign.

After lighting up Old Trafford with his dazzling performances during a dire 2013/14 campaign, the Belgian international has been resigned to the bench this season despite a bright spell against Swansea City on the opening day but will get his opportunities as the season goes on.

TIn an interview with Squawka, the teenager has been speaking about the prospect of playing with some of United’s new stars and the 19-year-old has been impressed by Angel di Maria so far in training.

“I have trained with Di Maria, Falcao I am still waiting for,” he told Squawka.

“I like him [Di Maria], he’s very good technically and he is a very good passer. He’s a clever player. [I have also seen] Rojo. He’s a very good player. He is a good defender because he is really relaxed on the ball.”

Januzaj also spoke about his preference to play the No.10 role at the club but with Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata at the club, Januzaj may continue to find more success and more game time on the wing for the time being.

In the current 3-5-2 formation Januzaj has more of a chance if Rooney plays up front and Mata’s indifferent form continues but if van Gaal switches to his preferred 4-3-3 formation, the likelihood of Januzaj playing in his preferred spot is even less so, especially given the fact United will rely on having two top quality wingers with the Belgian certifiably more talented than Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.
