Arturo Vidal has suffered a muscular injury to his thigh that is expected to rule him out of Juventus’ clash against Milan next weekend.
The 27-year-old only just returned to fitness following an extended break after his involvement in the World Cup, which he did against medical advice having undergone knee surgery not long before the tournament began.
Speaking about Vidal’s injury, a Juventus spokesman said: “After sitting out yesterday’s training in Vinovo, Arturo Vidal today underwent medical tests which revealed a light strain of the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh.
“The 27-year-old has immediately begun his rehabilitation programme and further examinations to monitor his progress are scheduled for next week.”
We’re keeping a regular check on what happens to Vidal this season so that if he is once again linked to United in January, you will have been able to follow his progress over the course of the next few months.
For Vidal, another injury is a problem. One consequence of a serious injury is that it can potentially be followed by a series of niggling problems, which doesn’t bode well for him in the circumstances.
