Guillem Balague believes Manchester United are ‘preparing or have prepared’ an offer to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford this summer.
Reports from Spain have gathered pace in the last 24 hours suggesting Ronaldo is frustrated and would consider a return to United.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Balague said: “I do believe Manchester United are preparing an offer, or have got an offer prepared, for Cristiano Ronaldo and have had for months. I do believe he is thinking of going back, but there will undoubtedly be more on that later!”
The rumours have been fuelled by comments from ex-Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon who has pointed towards a succession of player sales which has left Ronaldo frustrated with his current situation in Madrid.
“My impression is he is fed up with the policy of the current president [Pérez],” Calderon said.
“When he came with Robben, he thought he would be a good colleague for him in the team.
“Higuain was sold and he didn’t like that. Last year he thought it was a mistake to let Özil leave and the last straw was selling Xabi Alonso and Ángel di María this summer.”
Given that Madrid have more than replaced their player departures by bringing in the likes of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez and also completed their ‘La Decima’ after triumphing in the Champions League, Madrid have been vindicated by their choice to sell players.
However, the biggest issue for Ronaldo in Madrid could be the relationship his agent Jorge Mendes has with Florentino Perez and that could be the driving force behind the current rumours.
