Mats Moller Daehli has sent a message of thanks to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after he resigned as Cardiff City manager yesterday and insisted his career would not have been the same without him.
To the surprise of many, Daehli left Manchester United in 2013 to join Solskjaer’s Molde side in Norway where and followed him to Cardiff as well.
Daehli also worked under Solskjaer for United’s Reserves in 2011, so it is safe to say he has had a massive influence on Daehli’s career to date.
Speaking on Instagram account, Daehli said: “Without you I would not be where I am today. Thank you. Lots of good luck!”
Solskjaer’s job at Cardiff had always been a poisoned chalice after the circumstances in which he got the job in the first place after Vincent Tan’s public fall-out with Malky Mackay, so it wasn’t a surprise to see him get sacked.
Hopefully the Cardiff saga won’t have damaged his career too much in the long-term but he is now without a job. Maybe Van Gaal should give him a call and get him to teach United’s youngsters again.
