Manchester United’s defensive performance against Leicester City might have been a travesty but in the attacking sense, United looked very dangerous.
With Wayne Rooney in the No.10 role behind Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, supported by Ander Herrera and Angel di Maria, United were making mincemeat of Leicester City’s defence and were causing them all sorts of problems.
Falcao’s cross found Van Persie for the opener, Rooney’s through-ball set Di Maria up for the second and Di Maria’s shot was flicked in by Herrera. All in all, United were fantastic going forward until the capitulation began at the 60 minute mark.
Although the defence is likely to be shifted around for West Ham this weekend, there is every chance Van Gaal will stick to the same front six that looked so impressive against Leicester.
However, it would mean Juan Mata once again missing out. Do you think that would be the right decision from Van Gaal?
