Ander Herrera has made a fantastic start to his career at Manchester United with two goals and two assists in his first five Premier League appearances.
There was a real sense of expectation surrounding the Spaniard this year after his excellent performances during the pre-season and he has not disappointed so far.
Combining a great passing range with an equally as impressive tackle and engine, Herrera’s dynamism has brought a fresh presence to United’s midfield that has helped it move forward after years of stagnation.
The 25-year-old will no doubt be in Louis van Gaal‘s starting XI for the visit of West Ham to Old Trafford this Saturday and he is excited to play in front of the home crowd again.

With new signings it is never a good idea to expect too much too soon but Herrera really has delivered with his performances so far after a shaky start against Swansea.
Already he has more goals than Michael Carrick scored in the entire last campaign and it really is refreshing to have a midfielder who is not only confident at shooting but has the ability to match as well.
With Daley Blind sweeping up in front of the back four, Herrera and Di Maria have been given a creative freedom that has allowed them to attack without added defensive responsibility and it has contributed to their impressive starts to the season.
It feels like an eternity since Paul Scholes regularly lashed in shots from the edge of the box but Herrera, who recently admitted he wants to follow in Scholes’ footsteps, is doing precisely that so far.
