Both players were part of a Holland squad who lost their opening qualifier 2-1 to Czech Republic and will want to immediately get back on track in order to qualify for Euro 2020 in France.
Van Persie’s club form continued with Holland as the 31-year-old was once again out of sorts up front and cut a frustrated figure, far from the Van Persie who was inspirational in the early stages at the World Cup.
As for Blind, he usually plays in a left-back role for Holland and although he is usually very reliable, he was uncharacteristically poor in the loss against Czech Republic.
Hiddink will announce his final 23 man squad for the qualifiers shortly. Blind and Van Persie will be in action with Holland on 10 October against Kazakhstan and will travel to face Iceland on 13 October.
