David de Gea 6 – At fault for West Ham’s goal after unnecessarily coming out for a corner and completely missing it. However, did make a few important saves.
Rafael 8 – Man of the Match. That was a 2012/13 style performance from Rafael who combined swashbuckling runs down the right flank with great crosses but equally so, he was very committed in defence.
Marcos Rojo 7 – Looked far more comfortable at centre-back than he did at left-back last week.
Paddy McNair 7 – Accomplished debut from the 19-year-old. Brilliant clearance late on to help keep United 2-1 up.
Luke Shaw 7 – Equally as impressive debut from Shaw. Will fill him with confidence to go on and improve.
Ander Herrera 7 – Another all-round performance from Herrera who is making himself more indispensable with each game. Bad luck to go off with an injury.
Daley Blind 6.5 – Blind wasn’t as clinical as in previous games but still played an important role for United.
Angel di Maria 7 – The Argentinian was once again United’s main outlet and was involved in so much of the forward play in one way or another.
Wayne Rooney 3 – An impressive first half performance and goal won’t be remembered thanks to his childish kick out that got him sent off.
Robin van Persie 7.5 – Best performance of the season from Van Persie and he scored his 50th goal for the club. Getting better the more he plays.
Radamel Falcao 7.5 – Striking up an excellent partnership with Van Persie but is still waiting for that elusive first goal. Only replaced due to Rooney red card.
Darren Fletcher – Calmed the midfield when he came on but isn’t mobile enough to push the threat up-field any more.
Antonio Valencia – Came on and ran into spaces with the ball effectively. Was a good outlet for the last stages of the game.
