Man United’s Ander Herrera suffers fractured rib injury

Manchester United have confirmed Ander Herrera suffered a fractured rib against West Ham and will continue to monitor his progress over the next few weeks.

The 25-year-old walked off in visible discomfort last weekend and is now more than going to be unavailable for United’s game against Everton this weekend.

As it is only an initial prognosis from United there is no time frame on a return but there is every possibility that Herrera could be ruled out for United’s game against West Brom as well as the biggest match of the season so far against Chelsea at the end of October.

Herrera was in fantastic form for United during September and was subsequently nominated for Player of the Month after scoring two goals and getting one assist in just three matches.

However, the Spaniard will now have to settle for his second spell on the sidelines since moving to Old Trafford this summer and will have to re-find his form when he returns from injury.
