Manchester United are set to find out about the fitness of Ander Herrera very soon and fresh reports indicate his injury may not be as serious as first anticipated.
Herrera hobbled off holding his back during the second half against West Ham United and it immediately caused panic among United fans as the Spaniard has already missed part of the season through injury.
Since returning, Herrera has been fantastic for United and his nomination for the September Player of the Month award is a testament to that.
It’s unlikely Louis van Gaal would risk Herrera if he wasn’t 100% fit but it would be a real blow for United if came round on Sunday, so whether Van Gaal would take that risk remains to be seen.

Herrera has been a bit of a revelation since regaining his match fitness and with every game that goes by, the 25-year-old looks more comfortable on the ball like no other midfielder has done for years at United.
It will be fantastic news if Herrera’s withdrawal against West Ham was more precautionary than anything else and the results of his scan are likely to be revealed at some stage this week.
