Danny Welbeck scores first career hat-trick with Arsenal

Danny Welbeck scored his first career hat-trick tonight in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Playing in his natural role as a striker, Welbeck played fantastic but it comes to no surprise for Manchester United fans that he has started scoring when used in his favoured position in the centre.

Most fans would have expected Welbeck to take a little longer to settle into his new surroundings and start scoring goals aplenty but it seems he is thriving off Arsenal’s style of football. He hasn’t found the consistency yet but he’s got flashes of brilliance, just as he had at United.

Welbeck always had the potential at United but was never able to hold down a regular starting spot and Louis van Gaal decided he had more faith in Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and James Wilson – United haven’t done too bad out of the whole situation. Welbeck may have helped push the move through but his future at United looked bleak.

Fair play Danny. So long as the goals aren’t being scored against United or negatively affect the club, there’s no reason to not enjoy a goalscoring Mancunian.
