Cristiano Ronaldo thanks Man United fans for support but plays down move

Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked Manchester United fans for how much some want him back at Old Trafford and once again reiterated how he is content with his current situation with Real Madrid.

A select group of United fans paid £3,000 to fly a “Come home Ronaldo” banner over Madrid’s game last weekend and it drew plenty of attention from the media.

It was labelled as embarrassing by the overwhelming majority of United fans but Ronaldo has said he appreciates the gestures as it is shows their continued support for him.

“I always said that I have a family at Manchester but I’m good in Madrid,” Ronaldo said this week.

“I’m glad of the affection that United fans have for me, it means that I have left good memories.”

Will Ronaldo return or will he stay at Madrid? Even if he were to leave, should United consider buying him at 30?

Questions will continue to be asked all year about his future and whether or not Ronaldo categorically quashes any rumours, next summer will see the Portuguese winger linked heavily with a move back to Old Trafford.
