Seeing Danny Welbeck in an Arsenal shirt will never sit right with Manchester United fans, let alone when he is scoring his first senior hat-trick in the Champions League after just four games with the London club.
Welbeck’s performance against Galatsaray was everything United fans knew he could do when given the platform but he never truly got that chance at Old Trafford. He’s getting it now at Arsenal.
Like Phil Neville, David Beckham or countless other Mancunians who have left United, fans want to see them do well at their new respective club so long as it doesn’t affect United and that’s the case for me with Welbeck.
So long as he isn’t scoring or hindering United in any way, it’s great to see him play well and begin living up to the potential we all knew he had.
Here’s what a few fans had to say on his hat-trick performance:
I (still) really like Welbeck, and I like him doing all right, but IT SHOULD’VE BEEN FOR UNITED.

Happy to see Welbeck show his talent tonight. Finally letting everyone see what United fans knew he could do if given the chance.

Just when I was starting feeling better about Welbeck. I'm really never going to get over this.

Just don't want United fans to forget that Welbeck asked to leave twice…. Towards end of last season under Moyes and this season…

Not too long ago Arsenal fans were celebrating LIVE on Sky Sports when they thought the Welbeck deal was off. Sorry sacks of shit.

Happy for Welbeck. He's getting regular game time and scoring goals. As long as he doesn't score against us I couldn't give a shit really.
