Angel di Maria wants to become Manchester United No.7 hero

Angel di Maria wants to become a fans’ hero at Manchester United and follow in the footsteps of the club’s greatest players.

The Argentinian visited United’s museum today to learn about the history of the club, just like Juan Mata did after joining, and spent time learning more about some of United’s greats like David Beckham, George Best and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Gaining hero status as a United player is no mean feat but Di Maria is aiming to emulate those before him who have worn the No.7 shirt: “It was great to visit the museum and learn about the club’s history,” told ManUtd.com

“It’s an honour to wear the No 7 shirt that legends like Best, Cantona, Beckham and Ronaldo did – I hope one day to also be considered a hero for the fans, just like they are.”
