Robin van Persie and Daley Blind named in Netherlands squad for 2016 Euro qualifiers

Guus Hiddink has named his Netherlands squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifiers next month and Manchester United duo Robin van Persie and Daley Blind have been included.

The duo have been played in every game so far by new boss Hiddink and that trend is likely to continue going into the Netherlands’ crucial qualifiers next month.

Netherlands have suffered a drop-off following the high of finishing third at the World Cup under Louis van Gaal and have struggled at the start of their qualifying campaign for Euro 2016.

Van Persie’s form has followed that trend as well but after putting in improved performances in United’s past two games, the striker will be hoping to get back to his goalscoring ways.

As for Blind, his versatility shines through when playing for the Netherlands team as his usual position is at left wing-back.
