Ander Herrera joins Manchester United team-mates to celebrate Everton win

Ander Herrera might currently be suffering from a fractured rib but it didn’t stop the Spaniard joining in with his Manchester United team-mates’ dressing room celebrations after the 2-1 victory over Everton on Sunday.

The Spaniard’s ability was missed in midfield against Everton as although Antonio Valencia offered a real physical presence, he didn’t offer the same dynamism going forward that Herrera does.

It was a cruel blow to Herrera that he suffered a freak fractured rib injury given how well he was playing after returning from a previous ankle injury at the start of September.

The saving grace for Herrera is that he now has a two week international break to recuperate and let his rib recover but whether he is fit enough to return in time for United’s games against West Brom and Chelsea remains to be seen.

Just like Angel di Maria and Daley Blind, Herrera has already made himself an integral part of United’s starting XI, so hopefully the Spaniard can return from this injury just as strongly as he did after his ankle troubles back in August.
