Joel Castro Pereira has returned to training with Manchester United after overcoming a back injury which has kept him sidelined for a few weeks.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper has been out of action for a month but is now back in training so is likely to be in contention for United’s Under-21s upcoming fixtures.
Pereira featured prominently for United at the start of the season having been in goal for United winning the Manchester Senior Cup as well as their 1-1 draw away to Liverpool at Anfield.
In his absence, Ben Amos and Anders Lindegaard have deputised in goal as Sam Johnstone has also been out with an injury but he has now also made a return to fitness.

With Johnstone looking likely to leave the club either on loan or permanently in order to secure more first team opportunities, Pereira should get plenty of chances with Warren Joyce’s Under-21 side once he is fully fit again.
