Javier Hernandez scored Mexico’s first goal in their 2-0 win over Honduras last night with a fantastic effort.
The Mexican took the ball into his stride and within two touches had lashed home a piledriver that gave the goalkeeper absolutely no chance.
Following on from his unbelievable left foot volley for Real Madrid it shows a resurgence in form for the once prolific goalscorer.
Chicharito’s goal now puts him on 37 goals and nine assists in 67 games aged just 26, meaning he is already only two goals away from becoming Mexico’s second highest goalscorer in the all-time list behind Jared Borgetti.
It’s good to see Hernandez back among the goals since joining Real Madrid on loan because there was no way he was going to get regular game time at United.
Whether Hernandez leaves on a permanent basis after this season remains to be seen but in the short term, he’ll just be happy to be scoring for Mexico again.
