Yesterday, Van Persie and Arjen Robben had individual training programmes away from the main group raising concerns about their fitness ahead of Netherlands’ game against Kazakhstan but Guus Hiddink is now expected to have a complete squad at his disposal.
After a slow start to their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, nothing but three points is expected of the Netherlands tonight and Van Persie may well feature from the start in what will be a crucial game.
Just like his form for United, Van Persie has been very cumbersome and slow for his national side since returning from the World Cup but his record speaks for itself and he’ll start if fully fit.
Van Persie has been re-finding his feet at United but at a rather slow pace. He almost seems uninterested at times when out of possession which is a stark contrast to the 2012/13 Van Persie who would drop deep just to get more possession of the ball.
