Tyler Blackett to be given new Manchester United contract – report

Louis van Gaal wants to reward Tyler Blackett for his good start to the season with a new contract, the Daily Mail reports.

The 20-year-old is supposedly on £2,000 a week but that would be raised to £50,000 thanks to him breaking into the first-team with some impressive form.

It’d be a phenomenal jump for Blackett to start earning relative wages to some of his United team-mates but he certainly deserves to be rewarded for his fine progress this season.

Van Gaal is a man of action which is precisely what giving Blackett a new contract would be and from Tyler’s perspective, it’d be the biggest show of confidence possible from the United boss.

Blackett is Manchester born and bred which already puts him in great stead with United fans and it’s fantastic to see a local player thriving after being given an opportunity with the first-team.

Hopefully this season so far has been just the beginning for Blackett and he can continue to improve the more he plays.
