Luke Shaw named Man of the Match for England U21s against Croatia

Luke Shaw helped England’s U21s beat Croatia 2-1 in the first leg of their crucial European Championship qualifiers and was named Man of the Match for his performance.

The 19-year-old overcame injury concerns over a dead knee he suffered against Everton last weekend to start for England and completed the full 90 minutes.

It was a competitive fixture which England won late on thanks to a Saido Berahino penalty and Shaw was unlucky not to score when he saw a shot rifle back off the post.

This is exactly what Louis van Gaal would have hoped for from Shaw as it should really help him with his match fitness and England are set to play the second leg against Croatia in a few days, so hopefully Shaw can put in an equally as strong performance.
