Robin van Persie and Daley Blind preparing for crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Iceland

Robin van Persie and Daley Blind will be in action for the Netherlands later this evening in their crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Iceland.

The Netherlands are currently in third place behind Iceland in Group A and would fall six points behind them after just three games if they were to lose tonight.

Both Van Persie and Blind played the full 90 minutes in the Netherlands’ 3-1 win over Kazakhstan last week and Van Persie scored their third from the penalty spot, while Blind played in his usual left-back position.

However, just like his form for Manchester United, Van Persie’s laboured performance was still some way short of his best and having completed an individual training programme alongside Arjen Robben, there are still concerns about his full match fitness.

On the other hand, Blind was as consistent as ever even out of his defensive midfield position he has become accustomed to at United under Louis van Gaal.

The match kicks off at 19:45pm this evening.
