Vincent Kompany singled out Romelu Lukaku and Adnan Januzaj as players whose personalities stand-out in the Belgium dressing room.
Januzaj has only made three appearances for Belgium since being called up prior to the 2014 World Cup this summer so is a very fresh face in the squad but it clearly hasn’t stopped him having an influence among the players.
In an interview with FourFourTwo, Kompany was asked what players stood out in the dressing room.
“There’s a few,” Kompany said.
“With Belgium you have Romelu Lukaku and Adnan Januzaj, for instance. You always have a couple of players with strong personalities, who always have something to say.”
A new domestic dressing room is always an intimidating place for a youngster breaking through, let alone an international one, so it is a testament to Januzaj’s confidence and self-belief that Kompany thinks that about him.
Throughout the World Cup, Januzaj was uploading plenty of photos with his new Belgium team-mates and clearly that encouraging settling in period has continued well.
On the pitch, Januzaj has always had confidence in abundance which helps him play the way he does and being able to match that off the field will really help him break into the Belgium side sooner rather than later.
