Angel di Maria took part in training with Manchester United today ahead of Sunday’s clash with Chelsea.
The Argentinian was substituted on Monday night against West Brom and immediately had an ice pack applied to his groin, raising concerns about whether he would be fit to face Chelsea but the good news is that he has taken part in training.
Now that Di Maria has trained, it certainly puts him in contention for the game on Sunday and from United’s perspective, it is very important he is fit because of how influential he has been so far this season.
Di Maria has hit the ground running at United and his form saw him deservedly named United’s Player of the Month for September and he was also nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month but missed out to Southampton’s Graziano Pelle.
If United are to inflict a first defeat of the season on Chelsea, there’s no question he’s going to play a central role in that.
