Radamel Falcao suffered an injury during training on Friday and reports from Old Trafford suggest he will not be involved in Manchester United’s game against Chelsea.
With Wayne Rooney suspended, it would leave Robin van Persie as the only fit senior striker in the squad and given how he is currently in poor form, it’d be a real blow for United going into what is without doubt the biggest game of the season so far.
The Colombian might not have been in the best form himself but you felt Chelsea was the perfect game for him to really kick start his career at United with a strong performance and in the big games you need your best players.
Falcao has struggled with his fitness right from the start of his loan move at United and suffering an impact injury during training is another blow on his road to re-finding his best form.
There is no confirmation that Falcao has been ruled out just yet and the official team news won’t be released until approximately 3pm this afternoon.
Update: Louis van Gaal has confirmed Radamel Falcao is injured.
