David de Gea was once again instrumental for Manchester United at the weekend and played a vital role in securing a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Thibaut Courtois was named man of the match but the award could easily have been handed to the Spaniard as well because he made multiple vital saves including a one-on-one with Eden Hazard where he looked almost certain to score.
When Robin van Persie equalised with effectively the last kick of the game, Old Trafford erupted and De Gea thanked United’s fans for their support right until the end.

De Gea has been a rock in goal despite a shaky defence in front of him that has seen Louis van Gaal use seven different centre back pairings in the last ten games.
He continues to improve and get better with every performance these days and he has quickly become one of the most important players in United’s team, so hopefully his progress can continue in the same vein all season.
