It’s the second month in a row that Di Maria has been nominated having won the September Player of the Month award and their places on the list are richly deserved.
October was a fantastic month for De Gea. His display against Everton which included a last gasp save to earn United the win was his best in a United shirt and although he couldn’t do much about the goals conceded against West Brom, he once again came to the fore when Chelsea visited at the weekend and could have been named Man of the Match instead of Thibaut Courtois.
As for Di Maria, his month was not as dazzling as September but his class was still on show for everybody to see. He scored his only goal of the month in the 2-1 win over Everton but his nomination was more about overall performances and how influential he was.
Fellaini earns a richly deserved place after completing his return to the team in some style. It was his introduction at half-time against West Brom which changed the game for United and he scored his first goal for the club en route to a 2-2 draw. That being said, it was his Man of the Match performance against Chelsea which impressed the most.
For us, we can’t see past De Gea being named Player of the Month. Individual goalkeeping performances like De Gea’s against Everton don’t come around too often.
