Nani is more than happy to leave Manchester United if he isn’t considered part of Louis van Gaal‘s future plans.
The Portuguese winger is enjoying a strong loan spell so far at Sporting Lisbon and had his best performance of the season at the weekend in Sporting’s 4-2 win over Maritimo.
Under David Moyes, Nani admits he was unhappy at how he was treated and could look to further his career elsewhere after this season.
Speaking this week, Nani said: “The last two seasons at Manchester United with so many injuries, I was very upset, missing my family and friends, I wanted something new.
“Before David Moyes I was very happy at Manchester United, that was my club. But of course it is very difficult when a player like me is treated a certain way. If I come back to the club and they receive me well, if that they want me to be part of the team I will be very happy, if not we will find a solution.”
Marcos Rojo revealed United are regularly keeping tabs on Nani and his progress out in Portugal and Van Gaal would certainly have been impressed by his strong start to the season back at the club he left to join United.
However, there may not be a space for Nani back in his squad. With Adnan Januzaj already struggling for game time, Nani would be far down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Prior to his injuries Nani was a fantastic player for United but ever since he got his first serious injury a couple of years ago, he was never able to force his way back into the team and there’s every chance he won’t play for United again.
