Manchester United latest: Giggs scouts striker, Ajax can’t afford Januzaj, £90m for Bale

Here is the latest Manchester United news and gossip from around the web including reports that Ajax want Adnan Januzaj on loan and murmurings that Gareth Bale could become available this summer.

Adnan Januzaj is going to be a very in-demand player soon enough. The 19-year-old’s breakthrough campaign thrust him into the limelight and he has recently been shortlisted for the 2014 Golden Boy Award given to Europe’s best U21s player.

Now, Ajax director and Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has admitted the Dutch club would be interested in signing Januzaj on loan but feels they would be priced out of it.

Januzaj is United’s new No.11 and the club has no intention of letting him leave but it all depends on how much progress he makes this season. If he doesn’t get enough playing time, then Januzaj may want to seek a short-term exit himself.

Elsewhere, The Mirror are reporting that Ryan Giggs flew to Turkey in order to watch Abul Majeed Waris in action for Trabzonspor. The 23-year-old striker played for Ghana at the World Cup and has a good goalscoring record in his past but why would Giggs be looking at a new striker when United have Van Persie, Rooney, Falcao and Wilson?

Finally, The Express suggest Carlo Ancelotti has become so frustrated with Gareth Bale’s off the ball work rate that he would be willing to sell him for £90m, despite the fact he was recently shortlisted for the 2014 Ballon d’Or.

Unfortunately for United, the Bale ship has likely sailed for the foreseeable future. United missed out on Bale when he was younger and even if Madrid were willing to sell for £90m, you’d be hard struck to find a team willing to pay that fee.
