Scholes raises his concerns about Falcao

Paul Scholes believes Manchester United will be concerned about Radamel Falcao’s start to life at Old Trafford.

The Colombian striker was slowly finding his feet and scored his first goal for the club in the 2-1 win over Everton but was ruled out of the Chelsea game last weekend after suffering an injury during training.

Falcao wasn’t pictured in training today ahead of the Manchester City game this weekend and Scholes is hoping he can get a run in the team to help him return to full fitness.

“Lastly, from United’s point of view, they will be concerned with Radamel Falcao,” he wrote in his column for The Independent.

“He has not been able to get that run of games together to get match-fit and start scoring goals consistently. He scored against Everton, was taken off and did not start against West Bromwich Albion. Then he was injured for the Chelsea game.

“It has been a stop-start beginning to his career at United. He needs that run in the team to build his confidence, his performance levels and his fitness.

Prior to his injury, Falcao was starting to gel with his team-mates and you could see how much it meant for him to score his first goal for the club but he has still struggled to hit top gear.

Angel di Maria is an example of how a foreign player can walk straight into a new club and make their own immediately but with Falcao, United are going to have to be a little bit more patient but the rewards will be fantastic if he can re-find his best form.
