Ander Herrera trained with Manchester United ahead of the game against City on Sunday and could be in contention to return to the first-team.
The Spaniard was substituted against West Brom two weeks ago after aggravating his fractured rib and didn’t feature against Chelsea last weekend but having had a full week of rehabilitation at Carrington, he might be ready to play again.
Herrera’s influence on the team has been fantastic already in a midfield three alongside Daley Blind and Angel di Maria. His tenacious and energetic style of play, along with his incisive passing, has brought a new dynamic to a United midfield which has been very static over the past few years.
Marouane Fellaini‘s strong performance against Chelsea last week puts him in contention to play this weekend but ahead of Sunday, Herrera has got himself some new boots so he’s ready to score a hat-trick against City!

Having Herrera available for selection again will give United some genuine midfield options and with the busy festive schedule coming up soon, that’s good news for United.
