David de Gea – No.1 in goal and No.1 on the team sheet. Comes into the game after being named Manchester United’s October Player of the Month
Rafael – Been consistent in his past few performances and needs to bring his A-game to the Etihad.
Chris Smalling – Reassuringly good against Chelsea last weekend but faces the daunting task of stopping Sergio Aguero.
Marcos Rojo – Has been hot and cold at centre-back but is where he is likely to play in the long-term so needs to continue.
Luke Shaw – Best performance in a United shirt was against Chelsea and needs to do the same again. Will have a tough game up against the bombarding Pablo Zabaleta.
Daley Blind – Will be crucial in protecting the back four and stopping Yaya Toure from having a free reign in the middle.
Angel di Maria – A lot of United’s hopes pin on Di Maria and his ability to both create chances and finish them himself.
Ander Herrera – If he’s fit to return, Herrera plays. United have missed his passing linking midfield and attack as well as his energy.
Wayne Rooney – Rooney’s back and United need him to be as deadly against City as he usually is.
Adnan Januzaj – Radamel Falcao is out and after his performance against Chelsea, should get the nod.
Robin van Persie – Coming into the game on a high from his goal last weekend. Will there be another injury time winner from the Dutchman? Here’s hoping.
