Marcos Rojo suffered a dislocated shoulder against Manchester City today and is going to be unavailable for selection for the foreseeable future.
The Argentinian slid into a fair tackle but caught a knock on his shoulder which unfortunately led to it being dislocated and with him out of action for at least the next couple of games, it puts real pressure on an already stretched United defence.
That pressure was compounded by Chris Smalling after he foolishly received two yellow cards because he is now suspended for United’s next game and it means there is a severe defensive crisis at United.
Smalling is suspended while Rojo, Evans and Jones are injured, so there is not one single senior centre back who is available for selection.
Louis van Gaal has already turned to Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair in times of need at United this season and with effectively all of United’s senior choices unavailable for selection, it’s likely that United’s younger players will be pushed into contention for a starting place in their absence.
