Victor Valdes is closing in on full fitness thanks to training with Manchester United at Carrington.
The Spanish goalkeeper was offered rehabilitation by Louis van Gaal to help him recover from a knee injury from last season which has seen him out of action for some time.
Having left Barcelona in the summer, Valdes is a free agent and although Van Gaal has dismissed such rumours on the grounds that he has offered many players in the past similar rehabilitation help, there are growing rumours he could join United on a free transfer.
There’s certainly something ironic about Valdes coming to United in order to overcome an injury given what is happening to our players right now but by the looks of things, it’s worked out quite well for him.
Having been to Old Trafford to watch United play, Valdes is getting to know his surroundings and with Anders Lindegaard expected to leave the club this summer, he could become the second Spanish goalkeeper at the club.
