Both had played lesser roles for Belgium’s qualifying campaign so far but after recently being re-called back into Manchester United’s side, Wilmots feels they deserve to start for Belgium.
Fellaini is currently in a mini-renaissance as his impressive performances against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have seen him earn deserved praise, while Januzaj has also shown some good signs, albeit amid a sea of other less impressive moments.
Regardless of that, it’s great news they have been given the nod to start for Belgium because confidence is crucial for any footballer and Wilmots’ faith in the duo will hopefully bring the best out of them.
Here is Belgium’s line-up in full which also includes Chelsea duo Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard:
Courtois, Vanden Borre, Alderweireld, Lombaerts, Vertonghen, Witsel, Dembele, Fellaini, Januzaj, Hazard, Benteke
