Colombia coach believes Radamel Falcao could be ready for Arsenal

Colombia coach Jose Pekerman says Radamel Falcao is in a good condition and feels he could be ready to start against Arsenal.

Falcao withdrew from international duty this week with a small muscular injury and there are concerns he won’t be fit in time for Manchester United’s game against Arsenal next weekend.

However, Pekerman says Falcao has recovered very well from surgery on his knee and backed him to go on to become one of United’s best players ever in the fullness of time.

“There is no doubt he is in optimal condition,” Pekerman said.

“He’s recovered very successfully. He done everything perfectly. This is a small muscular injury, it is different to the knee injury before the World Cup.

“He’s in a good condition and could be ready for Arsenal. He hasn’t even started yet. He will be one of the best players Manchester United have had and will break a lot of records in England.”

Falcao has had a slow start to his United career which is not too much of a surprise given that it was a big change to join the Premier League and the fact he is still some way off full fitness.

As for playing against Arsenal, having Falcao would be a great option for Louis van Gaal to have but even if he is not back for the trip to the Emirates, getting him fully fit for the busy festive period is essential.
