Trabzonspor’s Abdul Majeed Waris has welcomed interest from Manchester United and revealed it gives him goose-bumps.
The 23-year-old featured for Ghana at the World Cup and is reportedly on United’s radar after Ryan Giggs scouted Majeed Waris and watched him in action, something which the young striker is all too happy about.
“Manchester United is a big club and to be linked to them gives goose-bumps,” he said.
“I heard it and I read it in the newspapers so it really was a good feeling I must admit.”
Trabzonspor chief executive Burak Gurdal previously insisted he knew United had been scouting Majeed Waris which is where the story originated from.
“We have not have any direct offers however, we know Manchester United are scouting Waris and keeping close tabs on him,” Gurdal said.
“Not just Waris, we have a few players are being closely watched.
“We only signed Waris two months ago and are not interested in selling right now, but you never know what will happen in the future.”
It’s no surprise to hear Majeed Waris is happy of any interest from United given how big a move that could be for his career but unless one of Van Persie, Falcao or Rooney leaves the club, it’s hard to see United actively trying to sign another new yongster.
