Anderson wasn’t the only player to meet up with Cristiano Ronaldo last night as Manchester United youngster Andreas Pereira also took the opportunity to meet Ronaldo.
Like Ronaldo back in 2003, Pereira has been brought into the first-team squad as an 18-year-old youngster with raw, unpolished talent and he can certainly take inspiration from how Ronaldo transformed himself into the world’s best player.
Pereira is one of the most talented individual youngsters who has come through United’s academy into the first-team squad in recent times.
Like Adnan Januzaj, he is capable of changing the game on a sixpence. Take his goal against Liverpool’s U21s for example – in a tight 0-0 game with few opportunities, Pereira pulled this magical strike out of the hat.
Just being in the first-team squad is a major step for Pereira and so long as he continues to work hard in training, Louis van Gaal will give him an opportunity at some point this season.
