Ander Herrera says he is ready to return to first team action for Manchester United after missing a long period of games with a rib injury.
The midfielder was impressive during the opening months of his Old Trafford career but a rib injury picked up against West Ham in September has seen the Spaniard play just 45 minutes of first team football in the two months since then.
The 25-year old returned to action briefly against West Brom wearing a corset and played a full 90 minutes for the U21 side this week, scoring on his return and says he is ready to play.
Speaking to MUTV, Herrera said: “It was an untimely injury because I felt good and confident,” he said, in reference to his rib problem.
“Now I want to be ready when the boss says he wants me to play and I am ready.
“Of course I want to play as does every player, but I am at Manchester United where there are a lot of good players. I am a lucky guy to be here and I have to see these moments as a challenge for me.”
Herrera also took to his social media accounts this morning to mention the upcoming game against Hull City and it seems the midfielder is raring to go ahead of a busy period for the club.
If the former Athletic Club star isn’t involved against Hull it would be a surprise not to see him involved against Stoke City in some capacity on Tuesday night.
