Dismay at Angel di Maria being forced off against Hull through injury was soon replaced by delight after Ander Herrera came on.
The Spanish midfielder came back into the senior Manchester United side having been out of contention for a month and looked like he hadn’t missed a second of the action.
Herrera was absolutely magnificent and was rightly nominated Man of the Match by United fans after an extremely impressive return to the side.

Herrera was the heartbeat of United’s excellent passing football against Hull and it’s no surprise to see he completed 90% of his passes.
Herrera had to bide his time on the sidelines and wait for an opportunity to be brought back into the first team which Di Maria’s injury gave to him, and he grabbed it with both hands.
Fans have been asking for Herrera to be re-called back into the United starting XI and after his performance against Hull today, he’s surely played himself back into contention to be considered a starter again under Louis van Gaal.
