Luke Shaw wasn’t involved for Manchester United on Saturday but he was quick to take to Twitter after the match to congratulate his team mates and reassure supporters he’d be back in the team soon.
Shaw had started to hit top form at Old Trafford with a man of the match performance against Crystal Palace but picked up an ankle injury early on in last weekend’s win against Arsenal.
The injury was a blow given United’s lack of cover at left-back and saw Ashley Young fill that void last week and continue to do so against Hull City.
But Shaw seems to have faith he’ll be back in the starting line-up soon enough it what will be a welcome relief for supporters.
Great win today from the lads! Hate not being involved but hoping I will be back soon!
Rumours started earlier in the week that Shaw could miss the rest of 2014 with the ankle ligament injury he picked up but Louis van Gaal was quick to silence those stories during his press conference on Friday.
Whilst taking a comedic swipe at United’s social media team, van Gaal confirmed the injury wasn’t anything serious and Shaw would be able to return to the first team in a few weeks.
