Louis van Gaal has confirmed Angel di Maria will miss Manchester United’s game against Stoke City on Tuesday through injury.
The Argentinian winger was substituted early on against Stoke City after he pulled up holding his hamstring in clear discomfort.
Di Maria walked straight down the tunnel instead of joining the bench and there were immediately fears about how long he would be ruled out for because of the nature of muscular injuries.
There is still no confirmation as to the full extent of Di Maria’s injury but even having him out for one match will be a blow for United.
Van Gaal will be extremely frustrated that yet more injuries have forced him to change his plans once again and will certainly be hoping that Di Maria’s injury isn’t too serious.
With a busy festive schedule coming up, Van Gaal will want to have his best players fit but may have to contend without Di Maria if his hamstring injury keeps him out for a while.
