Antonio Valencia‘s left foot is about as useful as a wooden frying pan. It just doesn’t work. Well, it didn’t used to.
Against Hull City at the weekend, something extraordinary happened:
Not only did Valencia use his left foot but he did so by pinging a perfect, first time cross field ball that dropped at the feet of Ashley Young. Valencia usually struggles to find a man a few yards away from him with a straight pass, let alone a cross field pass like that.
Last week, Van Gaal insisted he can improve every player and judging by this pass from Valencia, he’s a miracle worker. That being said, it’s not just Valencia using his left foot which has left United fans pleasantly surprised this season.
Ashley Young has turned into a decent wing-back, Marouane Fellaini has enjoyed a renaissance and Wayne Rooney is playing like a teenager again. All around the squad there are improved performances from last season under David Moyes and with United coming into some good form, this could be a great December if the team can keep it up.
