Angel di Maria became the 41st injury for Manchester United when he limped off against Hull City but Louis van Gaal is content that the injury problems are starting to ease off.
“More players are fit now,” Van Gaal said.
Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera both started their first match having returned from injury and were impressive against Hull.
Marcos Rojo also made a comeback from his dislocated shoulder earlier than expected to give United’s defensive options a much needed boost.
As well as the trio who played against Hull, Rafael is now back in full training and Ashley Young is seemingly over his injury problems which ruled him out for a large part of the season.
Of course, there are still players out with injury such as Daley Blind who is unlikely to play again until 2015 as well as Luke Shaw, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans who are yet to recover from their respective injuries.
However, on the whole, United’s problems have eased up somewhat and Van Gaal will be hoping that is a trend that continues because the last thing United need during a busy festive period is more injuries.
